Epifacial®

Epifacial� is a new concept to diminish and eliminate fine wrinkles, large pores, acne scarring, nasal or facial veins, sun spots and rosacea with no down time. Epifacial� is a true lunch time facial. The Epifacial� technique developed by Franklin Johnson, M.D. and Maria DoVale, CMA, LME has been in use since 1998 at the center in over 10,000 patients with excellent results.

Epifacial� is a new application of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL). IPL affects the tissue beneath the skin surface evoking a response that stimulates subsurface remodeling encouraging fibroblast activity and collagen regeneration and thereby improving facial skin rejuvenation. It also encourages skin tightening and shrinkage of the sweat glands thereby decreasing one of the causes the appearance of acne. The effect of IPL on small blood vessels makes them disappear or become smaller. This effect becomes effective on "broken capillaries", rosacea, angioma and even some port-wine stains.
